PREPARING YOUR SOLAR GENERATOR
The Explorer 500 can be fully charged under straight full sun in 9.5 hours by connecting SolarSaga 100W solar panel.
Solar recharging steps:
1. Find the DC interface on the back of SolarSaga 100;
2. Connect the DC interface of SolarSaga 100 with DC input of Explorer 500
Notes:
1. Solar panel types and quantity depends on your purchase.
2. Buy 2 SolarSoga, get 1*Solar Panel Connector.
3. Buy 4 or 6 SolarSoga, get 2*Solar Panel Connectors.
* This product (portable power supply) can supply power to your device in the temperature range of -10 to 40 degrees Celsius (-10 to 65 degrees Celsius for solar panels). If the operating temperature is outside the above range, this product may not work.
A: Please note that the AC output port can only charge/power devices that operate at less than 500-Watt. Once exceeding, the Explorer 500 will shut off automatically. Please refer to your device specification before purchase.
A: Working time = 500Wh* 0.85 / operating power of your device.
For reference, assuming power consumption of your device is 60W (might be a box fan), working time will be 500Wh*0.85/60w=7hrs (rough calculated) .

While the actual operation of the unit may (or may not) be fine finding connectors to use the DC output is proving hard to find. The documentation says barrel jack 6.5 x 1.4 but purchased 4 different ones and none of them work, contacted support and they said DC7909 connector and tried a couple different ones of those and they also do not work for the output, they do work for the input which I do not need. Continued talks with support and they insist DC7909 is the right Jack which contradicts with their documentation. I and still searching for the resolution but not having any luck. So far support has not been very helpful. I guess I may need to see about returning the item as it is becoming useless and I have purchased over $100 in connectors trying to get this working. So far not a good investment.
Although the product itself is great, the car charger cable burnt out I contacted Jackery to buy a replacement cable I was told go to Amazon and find one. They don’t offer any replacements. Their product is not backed up. The customer service is the absolute worst. Once they got the money they just do not care.
I am interstate truck driver. I got this so I can have power in the outback now. I got no way of charging it.

I highly recommend avoiding them and not buying from Jackery. They have no product support their customer service is the absolute worst.
I love to camp. Often I go where there is no electricity, so it is nice to have something reliable to be able to charge my phone and run my little fan, etc. I love my Jackery! Plan on getting another one as a spare!
