Imagine seamlessly switching to backup power when the electricity grid fails or there is a brief outage. With the Solar Generator 3000 Pro (Jackery Explorer 3000 Pro + SolarSaga 200W Solar Panel) and Solar Generator 2000 Plus (Explorer 2000 Plus + SolarSaga 200W Solar Panel) combined with a Transfer Switch 306A1 × 1, you can wire six separate circuits from your home's breaker panel.

When there is an unexpected long-term power outage, blackout, or brownout, you can simply flip the switches on the integration panel and keep all your home appliances powered with a Jackery whole-home backup kit.

Transfer Switch for Whole-Home Backup Kit

Step-By-Step Process to Install the Transfer Switch

Integrating with Jackery Explorer 3000 Pro or 2000 Plus secures your home and keeps the refrigerator, garage door, light switches, and outlets in the main living area charged.

Jackery Manual Transfer Switch acts as a mediator between the utility meter and the solar generator. You'll need a TT-30P to L5-30R power cord to hook up 3000 Pro or 2000 Plus to the transfer switch.

Once you have installed the transfer switch, follow the steps to use it during a power outage.

Step 1: Insert one end of the TT-30P to L5-30R power cord into the AC outlet of Explorer 3000 Pro or Explorer 2000 Plus.

Step 2: Insert the other end of the power cord into the power inlet on the transfer switch.

Notes:
*To power your home circuit with the 2000 Plus or 3000 Pro, you will need a TT-30P to L5-30R power cord to hook up your 2000 Plus or 3000 Pro to the transfer switch.
*Suggested length: 10ft, or customize the length based on the height of the transfer switch from the ground.

Comment: My house has a hot air propane furnace. Will the 3000 be enough to power it up ?

Reply: Hey, yes! Any hot air propane furnace that consumes less than 3000W can easily be charged with the Explorer 3000 Pro. Assuming your hot air propane furnace uses anywhere around 500 - 700 watts of electricity, you can easily power it for 3 - 5 hours.

Comment: Do you installed transfer switch ? what the best size generator to run a frig, a/c, lights ? Is there a person to consult with ? How long does a generator last and is it re-furnishable

Reply: Hey. Unfortunately, we don't install transfer switches, but this guide is a detailed user manual you can refer to while installing. Jackery Explorer 2000 Plus is a great choice if you want to run the fridge (400W), AC (1000W), and lights (20W) simultaneously.

Comment: I understand I can run my solar power at the same time as I have power coming from the utility company. Is this correct? Can I plug my solar battery into a home outlet to recharge my batteries with utility power at the same time I use Jackery products to run things that take more power to run? Ex: Can I use utility power to run my lights and TVs and use solar power (Jackery batteries) to run my microwaves, A/C and freezers?

Reply: Yes. You can use Jackery with utility power simultaneously by installing the transfer switch.

Comment: Would this power my well pump?

Reply: Most well pumps operate at 220-240 volts. In Jackery, you can choose this 240V Jackery product - Explorer 2000 Plus Double Kit (6000W/240V/4kWh) to run your well pump. It can run your well pump for 1 to 4 hours, depending on the wattage of the pump.

Comment: Bought 2000 plus 200 watt panels &1-100 watt, can you use electricity & solar same time to run other things

Reply: Yes. Jackery products support the pass-through charging, which means you can recharge the electrical appliances while solar charging the power station.

Comment: Any plans to make an automated switchgear (6 circuit) for the Jackery 3000 Pro for whole house use? I love my Jackery 1000 and I’ve had to use it several times to run my home refrigerator during short power outages. I’d like to upgrade to the 3000 Pro but I want it switch over automatically if I’m away on travel.

Reply: Yes. We plan to release this automated switch later this year.

Comment: I have an RV trailer that requires 30 Amp of power to run it. What would I need to get? Would this power my well pump?

Reply: A 25-amp source can easily power a 30-amp RV trailer. In this case, you can choose between a Jackery Solar Generator 3000 Pro or a Jackery Solar Generator 2000 Plus with TT-30 connectors.

If you want to charge a well pump that operates at 240V, you would need to combine two Jackery Explorer 2000 Plus Portable Power Stations in parallel (which is Explorer 2000 Plus Double Kit (6000W/240V/4kWh)). You can also buy 2*Jackery SolarSaga 200W Solar Panels to charge the portable power station when off grid.

does my explorer 2000 plus come with the power cord for connecting to the transfer kit ?.

  • Gary Wolters

If I install a transfer switch next to me panel, can I run the wire from the transfer switch through my attic so it plugs into the unit in the back of the house where the solar panels would be. The total length of the wire would be approximately 75 ft.

  • Barclay Wilson

how much does the transfer switch cost if bought seperately ?

  • Marcella

Does the transfer switch have to be next to the fuse box panel? I’d be using the generator to power a portable ac in the smallest room/bathroom at the back as well as a chest freezer and my refrigerator. Can it be put in the back courtyard? Is it weather safe for under a porch roof? Same with the solar panels…I would put them in the back courtyard.

I have a house electrical panel outside, the house was built in December 2001.
I read the instruction to connect solar generator to the wall electrical panel in your website, but the panel is different, of course. Do I need to change out the electrical panel box completely to the same exact one shown in picture in the instruction first?
